Ride it while you can ! Dolly Sods North

Postby Outdoornut on Mon Aug 04, 2008 2:20 am

Was up there on July 26th. The weather was great even though they called for rain, it was mostly sunny. This place is just awesome if you like the technical riding. We enjoyed over 18 miles of the rock infested ride and loved every minute of it.

Here are some shots to tempt you...

Shots from Rocky Ridge Trail overlooking Canaan Valley.

That's awesome JR ! That will fit right in for that race :D
Plenty of rock on Rocky Ridge Trail for anyone.. I know
Malibu (I'm sure you figured out who that is by the picture
- red jersey) put us old guys to shame up there. No wonder
he did so well at the Bear on Sunday  I think I have
created a monster.... 8)

Gotta love it.

Another awesome trip to the North Sods

Postby Outdoornut on Sat Sep 27, 2008 2:10 am

Spent the 19th - 21st in Davis with several members of the River Valley Mountain Bike Association from Parkersburg WV / Marietta OH area. Many had never ridden in the area and most had never been to the North Sods area. They were totally amazed at the riding there and enjoyed the time spent there. oldnoob joined us on this ride and our Sunday ride in the Plantation area. Here are just a few shots.

Looks like a great ride! I grew up within 5 miles of Dolly Sods but didn't get into mountain biking until I was in college. I don't really have any friends back home that mountain bike so I haven't the slightest idea where would be a good place on the sods to ride.
