Eleanor Park

Trail Conditions

Postby etownrider on Sat Feb 14, 2009 5:15 am

Trails are not clear or dry, but are ridable for the most part. If I can ride it anyone can. The new sections are fun, with Faceplant (me being the namesake   ) being a real challenge. Ride 'em before it rains.

Rode the Eleanor course and must say without a doubt that it has the best single track in the area. Larry Perkins and his crew have done an outstanding job connecting a loop that has everything from deep drops to extremely fast downhill sections. The trees have been removed and the course was fairly dry today. If you're in the area you must check out the new course. For those unfamiliar with the course the loop begins about a 1/2 mile up the gravel road, not the trail by the shelter.

Creek to Peak

Postby etownrider on Tue Mar 31, 2009 10:46 pm

Well, it's good to see all of the trash talkin' from last year has dried up. The trails were fairly dry today also. Just a few muddy spots where there are always muddy spots. The new sections the Czar and his trail building army have put in are welcome additions to their network. We can only hope someone will encourage Peter LeFleur to make a come back at the 12 Hours of Creek to Peak so he can redeem himself. He'll probably be on a SS!! BRING ON THE TRASH   !!

Creek to Peak trails

Postby etownrider on Sat May 23, 2009 1:35 pm

Well, it looks like Perkins and his trail crew have been at it again. Even after more than five inches of rain and a 12 hour race the trails are better than ever! 8) Any damage from the marathon of rain and bikes has been repaired, and several sections have been improved. Those guys are amazing. Should make for really fast and fun times next weekend. Maybe the trashtalking locals will show up for the race too.

Rode in the park on Monday and the trails are really getting fast. A few areas could use some weedeating, but that shouldn't keep you away. The trails are dry and have been beat in well during the last few weeks. Probably the best they've been all year. However, one trail is not what I consider rideable. Creekside is suffering from the rainy season. If you wanna ride it before Perkins' Crew works on it you will need to bring a chainsaw (an ax will not be enough). Go have fun on the long weekend.

Creekside

Postby J-Will on Sun Sep 06, 2009 9:20 pm

John and I worked on Creekside this morning for about 6 hours. We started where Creekside exits and weedeated, cleared brush, cut trees and re-routed a section or two which did not flow well or were still muddy after two weeks of no rain. It is looking good. We got close to where the old Creekside came down the hill. We will most likely do more of this next weekend, if anyone is interested.
