Looking to buy!

Looking to buy!

Postby dElder on Thu Jul 02, 2009 3:51 am

Hi all, I've just begun riding frequently this summer and am ready to purchase a more serious bike. Currently I've got some random Mongoose model with full suspension, SRAM shifts, and front disc brakes. I'm willing to spend 500ish dollars. Any suggestions/offers?

Bike for sale

Postby wvmtbiker on Mon Jul 06, 2009 11:12 am

I just got a new bike and am selling my Marin Mount Vision. It has been raced, so it isn't in mint condition, but I just took it in for a tune up. They put a new bottom bracket in and some cables and everything works just fine. The bike originally retailed for over $2000, and I am asking $375. I seriously doubt you will get a better bike for that money. If you are interested it is a medium size. Hope this helps, or at least that you find something you like.

Could you post a link to pictures of the bike? I am about six feet tall and 170ish lbs. Is that a good size frame for my body? If it is, I`m very interested in buying.

used bike

I'm 5' 8" and the bike seems a good fit for me. It may be a little too small for you. The size is "medium", or probably 17.5 inches. If you know someone at a bike shop perhaps you could ask their opinion, but you might feel more comfortable on a size large. But if no larges are available in your price range this might still be acceptable. Image

Bike for sale

I live in Clay County, but my son lives in Huntington, so it would not be much trouble to bring the bike and let you try it. Could go for a ride at Beech Fork or Barboursville Park or something. You are touring now - that's awesome. I was a percussion major at WVU and have been the middle school band director in Clay for a long, long time. Are you finding more people that appreciate jazz where you are playing? Best wishes!

yes! we've smashed our two performances in the montreux jazz festival in switzerland. i'm in italy for a night, and then we head to nice, france for the jazz a juan festival (2 more shows). people here love our music. the crowds are so appreciative of real jazz, it's amazing. and yeah! i'd love to test it out. i fear that i may not be at or anywhere near your level of riding expertise though.

I'm in Key Largo visiting relatives. I should be back next week some time. Had a good ride Sunday at Davis for the WV Championships.
