I'm looking for some southern MB hospitality . . .

I'm visiting Charleston for an extended trip thru the 2nd week of August for work reasons and brought my bike (my current baby: GT XCR 4000 with I-Drive and various upgrades). While work is consuming most of my time, I want to test my Florida (that's right FLORIDA) mountain bike skills in the big, bad Kanawha State Forest (and other WV trail venues).

But I'm cheating --- just a little. As a former resident of Charleston, I have biked some of the KS trails in the past; however, weirdly enough it was not until I moved to the Flat State that my MBing interest piqued and now consumes my free time. (When I lived in the Mountain State I, very logically, was an avid scuba diver. See, it allllll makes sense now, right?) Instead of taking advantage of the readily available ocean, I prefer now to get my butt bruised and carnage updates on in some pretty respectable MB Parks under a grueling sun and am just DYING to hit the KS trails which started it all and test myself for improvement.

Sooooo.....any group rides or riders out there who want to watch a Florida-schooled MBer tackle the KS trails? I would sincerely appreciate any info can you can give me, or your passing this on to any WVMBA members or other riders that you think might be interested.

Thx.

Not sure if I will be heading south in that time frame or not but if you want to travel a few extra hours I definitly would be up for a valley falls and/or coopers rocks ride. I am off all summer so any week day works for me

i'm in.

my schedule is somewhat flexible after Tuesday (7/1); how crazy would it be for you to do a bike trip on Friday the 4th? i know that the office i'm working from will likely be closed . . . and, frankly, my idea of a great 4th involves my bike and some serious trails . . .

If you are still around I can probably ride this week, KSF, Little Creek, or whereever. Give me a call at 304-382-1197 if interested. Doug
