Hey guys,
I'm located in Charlotte, NC.
I've trying to find some info on some great places to ride in West Virginia. Me and the guys I ride with usually do about four out of town trips to Virginia and wev'e been wanting to check out some great places in West Virgina for a change, but none of have a clue where to begin looking or where to go.

Can you guys offer up some suggestions or where to go to get in a lot of miles and the more difficult the better.

Thanks,
Dirtdobber

Check out the Slatyfork area. Elk River Touring Center in particular. Plus you can ride Snowshoe, or head north to the Davis area. Tons of riding over there. A little farther north and you can head to Morgantown, there is Coopers Rock, WVU forest(across the road from Coopers), and Big Bear lake where they hold the 24 hour race.

If you want to stay a little farther south you can head to the Charleston area. WIthin an hour or so drive of Charleston is, Kanawha State Forest, LIttle Creek Park, Barborsville Park, Mountwood Park, Charles Fork Lake and some others.

Even farther south in the Beckely area you have Little Beaver State Park, Ace Adventure Center, Fayetteville trails, Athens, Princeton.

Plenty of riding in WV, I know I forgot several places.

Too!

It's "too many trails to even list".

Not "to many trails, the horses are really hard on them, that's why horses should stay out of wilderness areas."

See, like that!

Its not the horses I have a problem with its the people astride them. Equestrians stink and I am not talking about the horses. Oh yea, Wilderness areas stink to mostly because they are full of horse poo.

Go to Davis or Sprucek-nob, best trails in WV.

Excellent... That's for all the suggestions!!! This is a great starting point and I had nothing to really go on. I'll check out all these trails and figure out which one to start our next out of state ride on. Lots to chose from! Razz

Important notice:
Hey folks, have to agree that Slatyfork is my favorite place to ride in the state, however with the latest data, please don't spend any of your hard earned dollars at Elk River Touring Center or Snowshoe since they seem to be more than anxious to give away our trails in the neighboring counties. They are supporting the wilderness designation, see in the general section. Enjoy Slatyfork, just take everything with you so you won't need to buy anything there. Don't forget to go to the home page here and sign the pettition to save our trails.
