Looking for Intermediate Single tracks - I am an older biker and want to get back in shape. Wanted easier single tracks with wider birth and tree clearance. I want some distance 4 miles or better and within 2 hours of Charleston. I want to be in the woods without a heart attack. Not good with log bridges but don't mind getting off the bike a few times even to complete a climb. Nice Stream crossing and Rolly Polly is fine. Open to forest road as well. I never ride when its wet, but a few puddles are OK!
I usually take a camera so I don't want to wreck. I just want to enjoy the woods, get some exercise, take picture and track with a GPS. Geocaching is fun as well.

there are a number of trails at the Calhoun County Park that may fit the bill for you - the park is about 70 miles from Charleston (@ 3 miles south of Grantsville on RT 16), and has trails around the golf course & central hill that are fast singletrack.

Little Creek Park in South Charleston has some rolling wide single track as well. Kanawha State Forest, Barborsville Park, and Beech Fork all have intermediate trails as well.

There is plenty of good riding around Charleston, different terrain for every riding and fitness level.

Sounds like you are looking for Mountwood Park. Over 25 miles of trails, some fairly difficult, however most are doable. I learned to ride singletrack here and taught my kids here also. I can email you a map or you can download it from RVMBA.com. The site is a little behind, due to some equipment issues, but go to "where we ride", look at Mountwood and you can get the map I made there. You can spend a good day there easy. There are some neat spots to take photos as well. I always ride with a small digital and have thousands of pictures.

I just updated the trails section at Singletracks.com and there are a bunch of pictures on there for Mountwood if you want to see some photos.

Depending on when you plan to go, drop me a PM and I can let you know what trails would be best with the weather at hand. Have fun

(Edit: PS there are chaches there as well. Check your online sourse. I've met several people there doing that.) Easiest trail is Walter Tait Trail (wide gravel path 1.5 miles long and once at the end, you can do a loop on Mansion Trail to Hunters Roost, and then back down Haystack. Not a tough climb using that route. )
