Philippi

Rode here yesterday. It was a little wet in spots, then it rained cat's & dog's and then we got just as SOAKED as the trails did :!:
I'm working on a map for here. I'll post a link when I get it done and uploaded to the web.

The last time I rode there when it rained on us, it didn't rain until we were about done, so I can't really answer that.
But I forgot to post a link to the trail map. Here's a PDF of it http://www.geocities.com/whiteoakchallenge/philippi.pdf Later we might get it on www.sportsnspokeswv.com

Kind of one big muddy section today from start to finish but the trails were a lot of fun :!:

Don't know where you are comming from but once you get to Philippi. Find the covered bridge (you can't miss it). There is a paved lot bedide it on the Rt 119 side. Goto the back of that lot, go across the small bridge and follow the gravel road that runs along the river. Follow that to the end go around the gate and then start looking for the trail to your left. If you come to an open field you have went to far. It's just before you go up the hill to the field. See my link above for a trail map. It will help get you in the right location.
The loop might be a bit hard to follow for someone new to there. Your best bet is to call Thad @ Sports N Spokes (457-6090). They have a group ride every Tuesday and they can show you the way.
If you have a garmin you can D/L the race course here. It includes the prologue and 2 laps. http://trail.motionbased.com/trail/activity/6171510 Or just go there to help find your way there.
