Memories of the 12hrs of Creek to Peak

For those of you that never got to "enjoy" the 12 hours of Creek To Peak. Here are a couple pics of what you all missed
I could have swore that we voted at the racers meeting to take out the "new muddy" section.

This is why I retired in my 2nd lap. Finally got my crankset completely disassembled today..... yup, 2 completely trashed BB30 bearings.

Things weren't so bad after lap 1:

My friend's Rush after lap 2 (didn't take a photo of the carnage on my bike after lap 2, so this will have to do):

Honestly, single speed was the only way to ride that trail on Saturday. It is normally such a clean, dry, fast trail, too. All those days of rain just did it in. I'm just glad I kept the Scalpel on the roof instead of taking it out after my 29er had submitted.

12 Hours Creek to Peak

Postby A-hole on Thu May 14, 2009 4:44 pm

I thought the course was getting dialed in on lap 2....then it rained :( . Surprisingly, it actually seemed to come back around a little on lap 4...then it got dark and the slickness returned. Single speed rigid with lots of clearance was ok, but ss w/ suspension fork really clogged up. Regardless it was still a 12 hour workout, if you didn't mind hiking a little....err...a lot.

Disappointed that the "Awards Ceremony" went down while first place overall and others were still on the course...bad move.
