Eleanor Park trails are pretty hard packed, clear and dry as of 4-17-08. Watch out for stobs on the new sections, there are some definite sidewall biters out there.

There were only a couple of small wet spots, the rest is dry and fast. No trees or limbs down anywhere.

Trails are dry and clear, except for one tree out past the fair grounds. Could use some weeds cleared in some areas though.
Overall fast and fun.

Trails are really nice. Rode with some the guys who built them. It was a great time. Those guys are funny. The trails are not marked at all. So unless you ride with someone who knows the trails you will get LOST. They said they had signs to put up, but that one guy won't let them put them up unless he approves it. They said they have been waiting on this for months.

Anyway if you can ride with someone who knows their way, the trails are great. Nice technical singletrack. Hopefully they will get signs up soon.

Rode last night with some of the trail builders. Ran into an old friends dad on a bike and family of runners. Good to see these trails are for everyone. Trails are clear and pretty dry. Someone cut the big tree off of the trail out past the fair ground and some additional benching has been done. They are getting real fast.

Trails are actually in the Putnam County park located in Eleanor. Come on down and have some fun with these guys.

The trails in the park are fairly easy to follow because they are being ridden alot right now.

So, when will the rain finally let up enough to really get the mud out of Eleanor Park? This has been such an atypical June/July with all the rain we've gotten. I'm still waiting for the time where the bike washing becomes minimal!

Trails are fast and clear. Only one tree down on Cliffside. The Czar is clearing a new trail probably to be included in the Creek to Peak race. It promises to be fast and somewhat technical (That guy is a trail building machine).
There's been some weed clearing done, which seemed to speed things up considerably.

Hey etownrider, maybe you can help the Czar fight his battle with the ATVs. Everyone knows that he doesn't lift a finger to do any trail work, but somehow takes all of the credit. Hell, that guy won't even move sticks off the trail. The real Czar of Putnam County is Larry!!!!

Pete, who are you talking about? I WAS refering to Larry. I know a few of his friends have helped him some, but the only guy I've seen more than Larry is some guy with a dog (and he has no tools in his hands).

I think he probably cleared the tree off of Cliffside already, since it was gone today. With that said....trails are dry, smooth, clear, and fast.

The Creek to Peak race will be fast if they run the course the way I think they will. It'll be challenging but really fast. Come ride it and have a blast! (Then maybe we should help the Czar a couple hours.)

Who is in charge of this race? I was at the Dairy Queen and I heard some guys talking about how Larry was not going to let people sandbag in this race like they have in most other races all year. It's about time somebody steps up and stops these bush league shenanigans. I guess Larry really is the Czar.

I was just wondering how all the new work was being done on the new trail since word on the street is that the power that be was not going to allow any tools to be provided to the trail builders. I thought that was what the race money was for. How else will the trails be kept up or new ones built, if the money is going to be spent on other things. Larry should return all of the money he raised in protest of this bush league move.

Somebody needs to monitor the next time trial to make sure that no one J-W's the course.

Pete, what kinda crap are you trying to stir....make sure no one J-W's. I can figure out what that is supposed to mean. Thanks for the motivation Cool .

Also, The Czar is building trails because he can't ride them right now. Besides gas and oil are only expensive if the county is buying it, since it obviously will break the budget.

Gotta run!

There has been no cutting of the course. Don't get upset just because I set the bar too high for you Peter, ... I mean Steve.

So who is trying to dictate what the money is being spent on? This whole thing is a joke. Why have we never been able to use the weedeaters, leaf blowers, and chain saws as promised? Now, there is talk that the money raised from this race will not go to maintain and build trails as promised. Who is running this circus? There must be someone who wants to use the money for something else. Probably someone who doesn't even ride.

Looks like the new czar is getting all of the credit for what the old czar has done:

Excerpt from article:

The Creek to Peak race is being hosted by Veteran WVMBA racer, Larry Perkins. With Larry's local connections, he has been able to secure more money and prizes in sponsorship than any other race on the WVMBA calendar this year. I have a feeling that no one will walk away from this one without a prize.

I didnt know Larry was in charge of this race. Look at the contact on WVMBA, it is the Putnam Bike Czar. This article is dead wrong. Better check sources before you publish this stuff.

Speaking of prizes, please see that the sandbaggers in the beginner class receive nothing more than a tube for their underhanded shenanigans.

I had the opportunity to ride the trails at the Putnam County Park in Eleanor. I feel these are some of the BEST TRAILS that I've ever ridden on!!! By reading the posted forums, I'm a little confused at what is exactly going on in that park. I can say, what ever is going on and whoever is doing it......keep it up!!! It's working. All I can say is WOW!! Peter sounds like an educated man who knows whats going on and isn't scared of talking the truth....sounds like a LAWYER!!! Am I right? Good job to whoever the CZAR is and I'm looking forward to enjoying your trails in the near future.
